Exeter Township is home to a diversified workforce. Over 30 percent of the township’s population have post high school degrees; over 80 percent are high school graduates. The public high school has a graduation rate of 98 percent with 75 percent going on to higher education. There are five colleges/universities nearby: Albright College, Alvernia University, Kutztown University, Penn State – Berks, and Reading Area Community College.
The area has two technical schools: the Berks Technical Institute and Pace Institute. The Reading Muhlenberg Career and Technology Center and Berks Career and Technology Center provide a curriculum that prepares students for jobs in the local workforce. The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, as well as the St. Joseph Medical Center, offer specialized training. There is a bilingual allied health academy in the nearby city of Reading. Nearly 100 colleges and universities and teaching hospitals lie within a 60-mile radius of Exeter Township, including the University of Pennsylvania, Jefferson Hospital, Temple University , Drexel University, Lehigh University, Swarthmore College, and Haverford College.
