Exeter Township is in close proximity to major metro markets such as Philadelphia, New York City, Baltimore, Washington, and Wilmington. US Routes 422 and 222 are within the township, and two exchanges for the Pennsylvania Turnpike are close by.  Smaller markets, such as the Lehigh Valley (to the northeast) and the Capital Region (to the west) are both 30-40 minutes of driving time as is King of Prussia, the East Coast’s Premier Shopping destination with more than 400 stores, boutiques, and restaurants.

Nearby airports include:  the Reading Regional Airport, , Lancaster Regional Airport, and the Pottstown Municipal Airport (for business and recreational flyers).  Three international airports are nearby:  the Lehigh Valley International Airport,  Harrisburg International Airport, and the Philadelphia International Airport.  The Norfolk-Southern freight line, located along the southern portion of the township, provides rail access to national and international markets.  Plans are underway to also add commuter trains to these same rail lines.  Seaport access is about an hour away in either Wilmington or Philadelphia.  The Baltimore port is approximately 2 hours away.

The Berks Area Regional Transportation Authority provides bus service throughout Berks County with most of Exeter Township’s commercial areas on existing routes.  The majority of Exeter Township shares two zip codes: 19606 (Reading) and 19508 (Birdsboro) although neither Reading nor Birdsboro are located within the Township.
