July 30th Progress Update
A brief update on the construction progress was presented by RoadCon. The drainage improvements will be completed this week; curb construction has begun and will continue. The base course and binder courses will be installed tentatively the week of August 12th, including pavement base drain and minor sidewalk, etc.
All issues regarding the proposed driveway entrances at Charcoal Chef have been resolved according to PennDOT.
The trees between 34th and 37th Street have been removed.
The overlay of Perkiomen Avenue is still scheduled for mid to late September into early October. RoadCon may use a subcontractor to perform the overlay. A Pre-paving meeting will be scheduled the week of August 19th for coordination and scheduling.
GVC/Exeter Township questioned the status of the proposal for the installation of the controller equipment for compatibility with the closed loop system. RoadCon indicated they are waiting from Herr Signals to determine if there is a re-stocking fee for the controllers that were previously assigned to the signals at 36th and 37th Street.
The loop detectors/sensors at the intersection of East Neversink Road and the Boscov’s entrance will be installed by TELCO, Inc. during the evening hours the week of August 12th.
Exeter Township discussed the recent sewer overflow/blockage from the manholes along Perkiomen Avenue. The Township discovered pieces of mesh material located within the sewer line. There were no bowl inserts within the manholes (as required). The contractor was instructed to address the issue.
A brief discussion was made regarding the concrete driveway ramp restoration. PennDOT questioned if McMahon Associates will be replacing the aprons as part of the Enhancement Project scheduled for the year 2020. RoadCon will replace the concrete driveway returns in accordance with the PennDOT Plans
